Introduction
In my case, my previous activity was based on the context of an international school in Belize, where I live, and as an Educational Manager or School Director, I would need to communicate first with all the relevant parties that are going to help me brainstorm the planning process and the final proposal to other members of the international school governing body. Educational Management should use the most effective principles that some successful business apply in their administration, before they start considering or getting into a planning process, spending money, precious time and physical and human resources to solve problems.
Some times people perceive problems, either students or teachers, but these problems may not be a real problem yet from an administrative perspective, or not be so urgent as we think according to the educative institution at a specific moment, in comparison to all the other situations that educational management keeps in mind, besides teaching. Sometimes, certain projects and situations are more crucial and urgent to accomplish first, for the overall success and functioning of the whole school. Therefore, it is possible that what I have seen as a problem with the Spanish school curriculum, may not be as urgent or have a high priority to Q.S.I School, unless circumstances change later and budgeting improves or increases later on.
As a result, once the school governing body approves that the Spanish curriculum is indeed in need of an urgent update, then, and only then I would start working on the planning process and start communicating with people from the Belize school, Spanish teachers from other branch schools of the same non-profit organization in other countries and some experts in the field to research to gather real information first, before starting to construct an actual plan. When Plans take into account realistic problems and contexts, then their rate of success is higher. The videos of this blog, show us that we can't start constructing plans based on imaginations, completely disconnected from other people's needs and situations, including school staff, students and parents.
Once I have this information gathered by emails from people from different places, I would use a Group Decision Support System (GDSS) to invite the most active members or staff that are going to be directly involved with the planning process of the problem that has been manifested in the Belize international school. The planning process can begin once I have sent them to all relevant parties the material or information gathered, to start offering suggestions, ideas, changes and solutions. After looking at the following online magazine you can see the previous activity from UNIT 1, I will proceed explaining a little bit more about the use of the GDS System mentioned above.

A GDSS
A group decision support system (GDSS) is an interactive computer based system that facilitates a number of decision-makers (working together in a group) in finding solutions to problems that are unstructured in nature2. They are designed in such a way that they take input from multiple users interacting simultaneously with the systems to arrive at a decision as a group.
The tools and techniques provided by group decision support system improve the quality and effectiveness of the group meetings. Groupware and web-based tools for electronic meetings and videoconferencing also support some of the group decision making process, but their main function is to make communication possible between the decision makers.
A group decision support system (GDSS) meeting comprises different phases, such as idea generation, discussion, voting, vote counting and so on. The facilitator manages and controls the execution of these phases. The use of various software tools in the meeting is also controlled by the facilitator.
Group decision support system software tools helps the decision makers in organizing their ideas, gathering required information and setting and ranking priorities. Some of these tools are as follows:
Electronic Questionnaire: The information generated using the questionnaires helps the organizers of the meeting to identify the issues that need immediate attention, thereby enabling the organizers to create a meeting plan in advance.
Electronic Brainstorming Tools: It allows the participants to simultaneously contribute their ideas on the subject matter of the meeting. As identity of each participant remains secret, individuals participate in the meeting without the fear of criticism.
Idea Organizer: It helps in bringing together, evaluating and categorizing the ideas that are produced during the brainstorming activity.
Tools for Setting Priority: It includes a collection of techniques, such as simple voting, ranking in order and some weighted techniques that are used for voting and setting priorities in a group meeting.
Policy Formation Tool: It provides necessary support for converting the wordings of policy statements into an agreement.
With this system we can use the rest of 2.0 Web tools, proposed in this blog, that are necessary to complement the solving plan process, or for the gathering of funds, if necessary, or inform the public of our public campaign like the blogs, videos, prezi presentations, and wikis.
