Harlen’s problem:
A problem as English teachers is that usually we do not count with the enough didactics or technology in the classroom. However, schools usually have an English lab, but there the space or computers are not enough for all students, reason why the individual learning process is difficult in a foreign language especially.
Blogs and videos would be a tool useful for my problem:
If institutions directors understand that English teachers have a problem with technology use for teaching. They will know that for reaching a good English level in their students, they need to provide all resources for their classes like audios, videos, images, etc. Taking into account, Institutions need to implement new technology in the classroom. Blogs and Videos are good tools for teachers and students because the technology age has created new strategies for learning and teaching process. For example, in a blog the user can implement all kind of tools, like videos, images, articles, links, games, worksheets, exams, and audios and forums for all community inclusive. On the other hand, videos are good tool as well, because they get attention for all watchers, they can teach using memory, relation of images and sounds. The blog is not only a web site to publish information about one topic, this tools is useful to publish oficial notice. I mean, some schools don't have any web site, so, someones build blogs to have theirs own web site. Even, it works as the web page for that school.
Therefore, all activities could be published as an invitation, as notice, as poll, as forum or what ever you need.
Hence, as a director or manager, you can plan all activities with your work team and give them to know for all community through the blog.
On the other hand, the problem in this school is that it doesn't have the ways to provide all tools for learning a new language, in this case English; but, as director wolud say to teachers that they could use blogs to evaluate through them, as a plataform, they can put theirs homeworks on a blog and telling to students look in their homes the activities, homeworks, assigments, etc.
So, I think blogs could be a good tool for solving this problem, as long as, the institute works for getting better tools in the educative plant.
