Partner Olga - THE WIKI

The desmotivation of the students in the English class due to the lack of incorporation of the new technologies of information and communication in the classrooms, can also be reflected in the results of the Pisa tests and the state exams, the ministry of national education in its different reports and research and according to the readings of Building Human Capital. Is Latin American education competitive? The authors Jeffrey Puryear and Tamara Ortega Goods, in their reports, reflect that in Colombia, despite the mechanisms implemented by the National Bilingual Project of the Ministry of Education 2004-2019, the results of the Pisa tests, the educational institutions in Colombia need more effective tools such as the implementation of web 2.0 tools, necessary to develop classes in a striking, understandable, motivating and participatory way to improve the quality of competitiveness, equity, science and technology, and teachers.

Regarding the problem raised, which is below, one of the web 2.0 tools that I propose is the use of a WIKI as a tool strategy, it is a tool that offers a collaborative space for the learning, it is essential that the web allows an interactive contact between two or more subjects. It is a tool that can be used for the development of different subjects, as in the PISA results that reflects low level in the areas of English and mathematics.

Connectivity With access to the internet, users can participate either in the classes or outside the classes.

In the educational centers, the use of these applications has been gradually implemented. For example, in assistance or monitoring on the web, teachers can now support their activities with these tools in a way that allows students to answer questions, make forums, expand their information and create a fluid communication with their peers and teachers in inherent aspects to the academy. In general, the wikis present the following advantages:

* The Wiki integrates dynamic applications, where videos, exercise links, multimedia contents, images, texts, resources of open standards can be incorporated, continuously modified, and updated, by the participation of the different users that access the wiki.

* The Wiki is a collaborative and participatory tool, where collaboration and participation among users are encouraged when preparing content or clarifying information offered or requested by them. It incorporates simple and intuitive applications such as the creation of tests or quizzes.

* The Wiki 2.0 is adapted to all types of users, from the most experienced in IT issues to those with a basic level. Character Beta, since all content and applications related to Web 2.0 are continuously improved and updated and facilitates feedback. It favors the revision of the work, as it is carried out.

* The wiki offers mobility, an aspect that is related to the term M-learning, since much of the information that is introduced in web 2.0 applications are made in different places, since currently many of the users connect to the network through their mobile phone, laptops, desktop computers, iPad, etc.

*It is easy to use and offers great use as they allow to create and improve the pages instantly, giving great freedom to the user. Shared authorship promotes cooperative learning.

*The wikis can be multilingual, being able to write in the preferred language for each participant.

* When using wikis, students' motivation is increased, by working in groups and with new technologies, since it breaks the routine of traditional work (paper and pencil).

Individual Conclusion:

The wiki allows to the educational community to easily contribute by distributing their knowledge without having to know how to program in html, in wikis they have the possibility to make it very simple. In education this is very important because it allows students and teachers to concentrate on the content of the information they upload and not on the way to do it. With these platforms, issues such as the tight schedule of the students, the difficulty of socializing what is being learned and in some cases the work of group projects are improved. Currently communities and working groups are created around the wiki that allow an accelerated development of knowledge.
